FAQs

As a leading consumer bank in the country, we understand that we have both an opportunity and an obligation to continuously find new ways to grow the economy and our business. We are committed to providing meaningful and impactful support to communities—even during challenging economic times such as these—because we know that leadership is even more critical when families and individuals face significant pressure.

In 2008, Bank of America launched a 10-year nationwide goal to lend and invest $1.5 trillion for community development— the largest in the industry and a doubling of our previous $750 billion goal. The new goal equates to $400 million per day, on average, for affordable housing, economic development, consumer lending and small business lending.

Bank of America mortgage loan officers (MLOs) can assist with affordable housing assistance programs designed to provide down payment or closing cost assistance to first-time or low-to-moderate-income homebuyers. A local MLO can provide details about programs in your community.
